Voice picking

Often referred to as Pick by Voice or Voice Picking, the technology enables the integration of voice control into any ERP or Warehouse Management System (WMS). In practice, this involves converting data into voice instructions and vice versa. Data from the information system is automatically transferred and digitized into verbal commands and instructions that the worker hears in the headset connected to the terminal. His voice response is again transferred to digital data.

If deployed in a warehouse operation, for example, this enables significant time and therefore cost savings to be achieved. Workers are guided by voice during picking and other operations. They are therefore hands-free and can devote their attention to the actual handling of the goods, as opposed to using a standard mobile terminal equipped with a display and keypad.

A major advantage is also the reduction in error rates, faster operator training and, last but not least, increased work safety. The actual deployment in real operation offers a multitude of possibilities, especially thanks to the connection to any information system.
